Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (100g) active sourdough starter
- 1 cup (240g) whole milk, warmed to 90°F
- 1 large egg, room temperature
- 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
- 4 cups (500g) bread flour
- 1 tsp fine sea salt
- 1 cup (200g) brown sugar, packed
- 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, softened (for filling)
- 4 oz (115g) cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup (56g) unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)
- 1 1/2 cups (180g) powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp heavy cream
Instructions:
- In a stand mixer bowl, whisk the warm milk, sugar, and sourdough starter until dissolved.
- Add the egg and half the bread flour, mixing until a thick paste forms.
- Add the remaining flour and salt. Use the dough hook to knead until a shaggy dough forms.
