Ingredients:
- 1.5 lbs salmon fillets
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ¼ cup light brown sugar
- 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
Instructions:
- Whisk together the brown sugar, low-sodium soy sauce, minced garlic, lemon juice, and ginger in a small bowl until the sugar granules have mostly dissolved into a smooth consistency.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Pat the salmon fillets completely dry with paper towels, then rub them with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
- Place salmon in an oven-safe skillet or on a lined baking sheet and pour the glaze evenly over each fillet, ensuring the tops are fully coated.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes.
- Turn the broiler on high for the final 2 minutes, watching closely until the glaze bubbles and turns a deep, glossy mahogany brown.
- Remove from the oven when the internal temperature reaches 135°F (57°C).
