Ingredients:

  • 1.5 lbs salmon fillets
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ cup light brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger

Instructions:

  1. Whisk together the brown sugar, low-sodium soy sauce, minced garlic, lemon juice, and ginger in a small bowl until the sugar granules have mostly dissolved into a smooth consistency.
  2. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  3. Pat the salmon fillets completely dry with paper towels, then rub them with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  4. Place salmon in an oven-safe skillet or on a lined baking sheet and pour the glaze evenly over each fillet, ensuring the tops are fully coated.
  5. Bake for 12–15 minutes.
  6. Turn the broiler on high for the final 2 minutes, watching closely until the glaze bubbles and turns a deep, glossy mahogany brown.
  7. Remove from the oven when the internal temperature reaches 135°F (57°C).
