Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8 inch square baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
- Melt the butter in a microwave-safe glass bowl in 20-second bursts until liquid.
- Immediately whisk granulated sugar into the hot melted butter until the sugar is fully dissolved.
- Whisk in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
- Sift in the cocoa powder and salt, stirring until the batter is glossy and smooth.
- Gently fold in the all-purpose flour using a spatula just until no white streaks remain; do not overmix.
- Stir in the semi-sweet chocolate chips, pour the batter into the prepared pan, and smooth the top.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes until the edges are set and slightly pulling away from the sides, but the center still has a slight jiggle.
