Ingredients:

  • 4 (6 oz / 170 g) salmon fillets, skin-on
  • 1/2 tsp (3 g) salt
  • 1/4 tsp (1 g) black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp (2 g) smoked paprika
  • 3 tbsp (42 g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp (42 g) honey
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) fresh lemon juice
  • 3 cloves (9 g) garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) reduced-sodium soy sauce

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Pat the salmon fillets completely dry with a paper towel and place them skin-side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. Season the fillets evenly with 1/2 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp black pepper, and 1/2 tsp smoked paprika.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together 3 tbsp melted unsalted butter, 2 tbsp honey, 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice, 3 cloves minced garlic, and 1 tbsp reduced-sodium soy sauce until emulsified.
  5. Generously spoon the honey butter mixture over each fillet, ensuring the tops and sides are well-coated.
  6. Bake the fillets for 8–10 minutes, depending on thickness.
  7. Switch the oven to Broil for the final 2 minutes, watching closely until the glaze bubbles and turns a deep mahogany color.
  8. Remove the salmon from the oven when the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C) for medium.
