Ingredients:

  • 4 (6 oz) salmon fillets
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1/2 lemon (optional, for serving)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Use paper towels to pat each salmon fillet completely dry on all sides, then place them skin-side down on the baking sheet.
  3. Brush or drizzle the olive oil evenly over the top and sides of each fillet to create a moisture seal.
  4. Sprinkle the salt and black pepper evenly across the top and gently press the seasoning into the flesh with your fingers.
  5. Bake on the center rack for 12–15 minutes until the salmon changes from translucent pink to opaque, pale pink and flakes easily with a fork (internal temperature of 135°F/57°C).
