Ingredients:

  • 3 6 oz salmon fillets
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil. Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel and rub each fillet with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the packed brown sugar, smoked paprika, and garlic powder. Stir in the melted butter and lemon juice until it forms a thick, gritty paste.
  3. Spoon a generous amount of the brown sugar mixture onto the top of each fillet and press the paste firmly into the fish to create a thick, even layer.
  4. Place the fillets on the prepared pan and bake for 12–15 minutes until the sugar bubbles into a glossy glaze and the salmon is opaque.
  5. Remove the pan from the oven and let the salmon rest for 5 minutes before serving to allow juices to redistribute.
