Ingredients:
- 4 (6 oz / 170 g) salmon fillets, skin-on
- 1/2 tsp (3 g) sea salt
- 1/4 tsp (1 g) black pepper
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) olive oil
- 3 tbsp (60 ml) honey
- 2 tbsp (25 g) brown sugar, packed
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) soy sauce
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) fresh lemon juice
- 3 cloves (9 g) garlic, minced
- 1 tsp (2 g) fresh ginger, grated
- 1/8 tsp (0.5 g) red pepper flakes
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Pat the salmon fillets completely dry with paper towels. Rub each fillet with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
- In a small saucepan over medium heat or a microwave-safe bowl, combine honey, brown sugar, soy sauce, lemon juice, garlic, and ginger. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sugar dissolves and the mixture smells fragrant. Remove from heat.
- Place salmon on the pan and bake for 6-8 minutes.
- Remove the pan and generously brush the top of each fillet with the glaze. Return to the oven for another 3-5 minutes, or until the glaze is bubbling and mahogany-colored.
- Remove the salmon when the internal temperature reaches 135°F (57°C). Let it rest for 3 minutes to reach a final internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
