Ingredients:
- 4 (6 oz / 170g) salmon fillets
- 2 tbsp (30ml) butter, melted
- ½ tsp (3g) kosher salt
- ¼ tsp (1g) black pepper
- ½ cup (110g) packed light brown sugar
- 3 tbsp (45ml) soy sauce
- 1 tbsp (15ml) fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp (5g) garlic powder
- ½ tsp (2g) smoked paprika
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper.
- Pat the salmon fillets completely dry with paper towels to ensure the glaze adheres.
- Brush melted butter over each fillet and season with kosher salt and black pepper.
- In a small mixing bowl, whisk together brown sugar, soy sauce, lemon juice, garlic powder, and smoked paprika until a thick, glossy paste forms.
- Generously spread the glaze over the top of each fillet, pressing it in with the back of a spoon.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes.
- Turn the broiler on high for the final 2 minutes, watching closely until the sauce bubbles and turns a deep amber.
- Remove from oven when the internal temperature reaches 135°F (57°C) for medium or 145°F (63°C) for well-done.
