Ingredients:

  • 1 lb lean ground turkey sausage
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp white pepper

Instructions:

  1. Place the turkey sausage in the skillet over medium-high heat. Break the meat apart with a spatula and cook until the sausage is mahogany-colored and no longer pink.
  2. Lower the heat to medium and stir in the butter. Once melted, sprinkle the flour, garlic powder, and onion powder over the meat. Stir constantly for 2 minutes to toast the flour.
  3. Slowly pour in the milk in three stages, whisking vigorously after each addition to prevent clumps.
  4. Simmer gently for 5–7 minutes until the gravy reaches a velvety consistency. Stir in the salt, black pepper, and white pepper just before removing from heat.
