Ingredients:
- 1 lb lean ground turkey sausage
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 3 cups whole milk
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp white pepper
Instructions:
- Place the turkey sausage in the skillet over medium-high heat. Break the meat apart with a spatula and cook until the sausage is mahogany-colored and no longer pink.
- Lower the heat to medium and stir in the butter. Once melted, sprinkle the flour, garlic powder, and onion powder over the meat. Stir constantly for 2 minutes to toast the flour.
- Slowly pour in the milk in three stages, whisking vigorously after each addition to prevent clumps.
- Simmer gently for 5–7 minutes until the gravy reaches a velvety consistency. Stir in the salt, black pepper, and white pepper just before removing from heat.
